Cabinet removal and drywall repair might not sound like “remodeling,” but jobs like this one are exactly why we’ve expanded into kitchen and bathroom remodeling as a core service — not just an occasional add-on. This Apex, NC job is a good example of what that looks like in practice, from the first cabinet coming down to walls ready for paint.
The job
The client had an old built-in cabinet and hutch in the kitchen that had to go — but pulling cabinets off a wall almost always leaves damage behind: screw holes, uneven paint, and drywall that was cut or notched to fit around outlets and wiring. The job was to remove the cabinets cleanly, then repair and prep the wall so it looked like the cabinets were never there.
Before
The existing built-in cabinets and hutch, still in place.
Work in progress
Once the cabinets came off, the wall behind them told the real story — cut-outs for outlets, exposed studs and wiring where the units used to sit, and a mix of old and new drywall that needed to be tied together into one clean surface.
Cutting out damaged sections, patching around outlets and wiring, and setting new drywall sheets so the whole wall reads as one continuous surface.
After
Sanded, patched, and primed — smooth corners, no trace of the old cabinets, and ready for the next coat of paint.
Kitchen and bathroom remodeling, now a core service
This kind of job — tear-out, repair, and prep done right — is the foundation of any kitchen or bathroom remodel, whether it’s a single wall like this one or a full renovation. If you’ve got cabinets you want gone, walls that need patching before painting, or a kitchen or bathroom you’re ready to update, this is exactly the kind of work we take on now.
